Three days ago, we watched the troubling film, “Legacy“ by Yann Arthus-Bertrand together, awful yet magnificent images reminded us that viruses are not our only enemies...”This is not a disaster movie, it's a film that tells the wonderful story of man on the earth and it is also, perhaps, the start of a wonderful story we should all write together, quite simply.” Yann Arthus-Bertrand

Perhaps, one day, we might say the same thing about the difficult times we are living through. Perhaps in the hollow of this neverending waiting, our consciences are becoming sharper, our humanity more apparent and the music of the divine is weaving its way to our ears on the most ordinary of days, like this moment Claire M. shared on Sunday evening. “This evening I went to pray for a while to Mary of Silence... I like to pray in this place filled with meaning, thinking about those who enjoy coming here to talk, to leave their difficulties, but no longer can. For several minutes, ambulance sirens sounded loudly and the blue lights reflected onto Mary’s body...what a symbol. She is absorbing bruises...the world’s bruises, suffering, doubt, fear, indifference...the Cloak with which she shelters her children is so large!”

Upon the celebration of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, this Festival of light, we would like to share this beautiful text by Florin: Mary, a poor woman of Yahweh, haunted by the salvation of the world: The poor of Yahweh, are the people whose hearts are inhabited, haunted by the Salvation of the world: It moulds them! How will God do it? How will he manage to lead all of mankind to know him as he is...

While Yann Arthus-Bertrand closes his film with these words: “The only sustainable energy is love as my heritage is simply a love of life.”Florin tells us, “What converts humanity is to discover that God had such a capacity for love.”

Mary led an ordinary life. And, it is in this ordinary existence that, with the influence of the spirit, she was able to access the extraordinary of this same ordinary existence; we could simply say that Mary did not miss the true sense of what was given to her to experience [Read more...]
